Munchy Crunchy Rabbit

My munchy crunchy rabbit is going to eat the GIANT carrot.
He's got an itchy, twitchy ear and he is going to eat the GIANT carrot to
make it feel better.
Can you see the baby carrots trying to grow big like their big brother carrot?
Next he's going to boing away with his carrot! Go Mr Rabbit!

Hunting Tigersharks

"The tigershark and his buddy the swordfish are hunting for food.
Watch out little fish - they might eat you for breakfast!!!
The seaweed is tickling Mr Tigersharks tummy and his tail.
He is laughing, BUT, then he will crunch up the little fish..." said Suade.

Look at cheeky little bunny popping up from his rabbit burrow.
Maybe he is looking for a carrot.
Maybe he is looking at the pink butterfly flying around his bunny ears!

Bumpy Buffalo The Survivor!

My buffalo is a survivor because he battles with his horns and bumps rocks and animals. Bumpy is a meat eater, so that means he's a carnivore.
He's feeling angry because the zebra told him off for being 'Bumpy the Bully' to the other animals.
Do you think you know why he is called Bumpy Buffalo???

Dreaming of Tonga By Motekiai

"When I was asleep I dreamt about going to Tonga on a plane and surprising my Aunty Mama by cleaning her back yard and her room!
Tonga looks small when I'm in the plane, but, when I get closer it looks ginormous!!!
Guess what?  I really AM going to Tonga on a plane in 2 weeks time. Yahoo..."

Mike the Baby Giraffe

"My giraffe is going to eat some crunchy juicy leaves from the tree.
He uses his tall neck to get the leaves from the top of the tree like a ladder!
He is a baby giraffe and he is still growing.
Thats why he still needs to eat lots of leaves," said Suade.

Cheeky Cheetah

Exodus said "Look at my spotty cheetah lying on the log. Do you think he is sleeping in the right place? He MIGHT be waiting for his friends, or something to eat!"

Matua Wyllis gave us a plastic cylinder and we had to create our animals.
Chaun said "My one is a Tyrannosaurus Rex like a T-rex."
Exodus said "Mine is a turtle and I painted the shell blue."
"My money box is a spotty leopard, and I can put my money in it and save it up. I am saving up for some toys," said Petero.

Joey - A Story by Israel

me
Hi Ms Wild
This is a piece of writing that Israel and I did about Joeys visit to Room 17. ( Israel did most of the work I just helped and typed).
Joey the Chihuahua
I liked it when Joey came to visit Room 17. When I got to throw Joey’s toy frog I saw him running fast like me and a cheetah. I loved it when Joey came and jumped on me and gave me his frog and Atawhai got to throw the frog toy to.  I liked it when Joey did some tricks for Room 17 and his tricks were so amazing. Joey was funny when he came to visit Room 17. After that we went outside to have a run with Joey and we had to do a style and the style was fast walking and when we touched the fence I ran the fastest in my class to the tree and then I jumped on the tree. After school I t to hold Joey. That was really cool. Thank you Ms Wild for letting me hold Joey the Chihuahua.

Life Education and Harold the Giraffe

Harold and Lynn came to teach us about healthy eating and taking care of our bodies so we can be healthy, happy and strong.

Listen to our talented children reading their stories to you about the food pyramid and how it reminds you what to eat...

Captain Cashtastic came to Visit...

After we had done some learning about money with Captain Cashtastic he set Room 17 some knowledge questions to see what we had learnt.

Keyana was brave and showed she knew how to order money correctly from the LEAST amount to the MOST amount....sooooooo

Look at Captain Cashtastics face!!
He can't believe how clever Keyana is.
She 'graduated' from his class and earnt a power bracelet.

We learnt this saying about managing money -

"Speed to your needs, and WAIT on your wants."

Ronald McDonald came to visit....

Ronald told us a story about searching for his red and white stripey sock. He acted walking to Pt England school and told us how to be safe around roads and traffic.

You can see that Ronald found his sock AND he taught us a poem to help us remember how to be safe.
He told us to STOP at every 'sneaky driveway' and remember to look and listen in case a car was coming out of the drive.

STOP, LOOK and LISTEN when you cross the street.
Use your eyes, use your ears BEFORE you use your feet.

Harold visited...

Lynn and Harold have been teaching us how to think about the food we eat.
Ty knew that we needed to eat lots of vegetables and fruit every day, and he helped to find the right picture.

Tinkering, Tools and ....healthy kai at school.

Check out the movie we played at the Term 2 assembly to get us thinking about healthy lunch food. From here we will move to 'tinkering' with our schoolbox design; and try to work out a better design so we won't need so much wrapping.

Birthday Boy Bryston

A big thank you to Mr and Mrs Bennett and Bryston for bringing an amazing chocolate cake, lollies and balloons for Room 17 to celebrate Brystons 6th birthday!

Happy 6th birthday Bryston!!! Thanks for sharing the love...

Guess who came to visit Room 17?

Waiting to eat our eggs. . .

Oh my gosh - you will never guess who came to Room 17 last night when we were asleep...

You're right - it WAS the Easter Bunny and we got to write about what an egg means at Easter time.

This is our class story -
"We made Easter baskets yesterday. Easter eggs are like new life, just like Jesus..."  By Room 17
