Pancake Art
As you may have read, we made pancakes with Miss Barber last week.
Look at the artwork some of Class 21 created
showing you the equipment and ingredients used.
"Look at my pancake maker, spatula for scraping the cold metal bowl, the butter, eggs, flour and salt. Ready to rock!" said John.

"I am reaching for the ingredients to make another penguin pancake. Can you see my golden penguin pancake waiting for me. . .?" said Kitione. |

Making Pancakes in Class 21.
Penguin Pancakes. . .We wrote the recipe after reading the pukapuka 'Pancake Attack' in class.
Guess what stage Precious, Tori and Lee are at? Hmmmmm :)
We made sure we had the right things by writing out the recipe as a class so Miss Barber could go shopping for ingredients.
We brainstormed until we were sure we had our list right!
1 cup flour 1 egg 1 cup milk pinch of salt
Then we passed the bowl and used old-fashioned 'elbow grease' to mix the pancake batter. Everyone had to count to rima and then pass the bowl to their buddy.
Julia got to measure the batter into the pancake machine. |
Miss Barber and Julia used the pink rubber spatula to scrape the batter into the hot pancake maker! |
We waited until we saw a golden brown colour on the pancakes - then we knew they were ready. . . |
