Hatching into Beautiful Butterflies in Class 21!

Class 21 read the story "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and got inspired to write their own version of the story and create some growing hairy caterpillars and some amazingly beautiful butterflies. . .

We got some dirt with grass seeds in it, stockings, a bucket, and some plastic cups cut into a funnel.

Next we put the dirt into the stocking with the funnel and tied it off each section with a hair-tie to make three parts to our caterpillars.

Talk about great team-work!!

We added antennae and eyes to the head of our caterpillars.
Mrs Croucher and Ms Wild cut holes in the stockings for us to put them in.

Then Class 21 put their caterpillars on our cubbyholes so they could get sun to grow.
Of course we watered them to make sure they would grow really hairy and green!!

Then we were inspired to create beautiful butterflies - just like the book.
